Senate Energy Committee Agenda for Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

The Senate Energy & Telecommunications Committee will hold its second meeting of the 2012 legislative session on Tuesday, January 31st. The committee will consider a bill that directs the Department of Labor to conduct a study on trends in the workforce supporting the generation and transmission of power. The bill S.5085 (attached) is sponsored by Senate Energy Committee Chairman George Maziarz (R-Niagara), and cosponsored by Assembly Energy Committee Chairman Kevin Cahill (D-Kingston).

In addition, the Senate Energy Committee agenda consists of the following bills:

S.3674-A(Marcellino, R-Syosset): Provides for exemptions from sales tax for energy-star qualified appliances and grants municipalities the option to provide such exemption.

S.5045-A(Maziarz): Requires organizations that receive funds for capital improvements by the New York state dormitory authority and the upstate empire state development corporation
